Downpipe is the single biggest hardware mod for the B58. HPFP being second for the 1st gen BMW engines. The TU HPFP are better. The tune obviously makes a big difference, and octane in the fuel is a large factor as well. The B58 loves ethanol and higher octane. I’m running catless downpipe on my m340. Yes it does smell but only if the windows are down and ur at a red light or parked. When driving u can’t really smell it. But the pops and burbles overweights the smell, making it worth it.
